Fender Bass: Still #1 After All These Years

by Daniel Wright

From the time they were first designed and engineered, Electric guitars have been praised due to the different sounds that can be created, even special effects. The Fender Bass reigns supreme as a best buy bass guitar. The features and integrity of this guitar make it well respected and revered. When musicians and fans hear the words " bass guitar" they immediately think of the Fender Bass.

Leo Fender perfected his electric solid body bass guitar, about 61 years ago. He opened the California based company in 1946. Electric basses have been sold by other companies, but his was the first mass-marketed one that was considered successful. His company was sold to a large corporation, but was repurchased by the employees. The headquarters are now located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Manufacturing is now done in Korea, Japan, Mexico and Corona, California.

While buyers can ease their concerns with the Fender Bass being a quality instrument, let alone the fact it comes with many guarantees and warranties to cover it, choosing the instrument itself is the daunting process. This is primarily due to the many options, colors, and choices a buyer must consider.

There are a lot of considerations when purchasing a guitar. The most important, is picking out the perfect musical instrument that will suit how the guitar is played and the owner of the guitar. Keyboards, frets, necks, and shapes do not accommodate players in the same manner. Some work well for a specific player and others are not appropriate for the guitar player. The sound of the guitar will change based on the design, wood, and coatings on the instrument that are chosen,

There are many styles of Fender Bass available to meet the needs of any type of musician. Some of the guitars produce a sound that is best for blues and country, while others fit better into the rock music scene. Still others produce the mellower sounds of jazz. Just looking at the many stars who have chosen Fender guitars shows the world that it's a much-respected and extremely versatile brand. In fact, country artist Freddy Fender took his stage named based on the brand of his guitar.

Even small details like a coating or no coating on the fret board will change the sound and even a good guitar can sound less desirable on a poor amplifier. It is important to get the best equipment you can afford that meets your needs rather than trying to settle for some instrument that will never make you happy. The only real way to choose a Fender Bass model is to try them out and see which one is the best fit, then to shop for the best price and finance if necessary.

Try out the models to see if you want a jazz type, a classic precision line, or another design by going to the company website to locate dealers in your area. People generally find several that are what they are looking for this way, and can then narrow down the choices by price and look. There are also deals to be found on the internet, want ads, and pawn shops.
